The demolition and replacement development is pushing people out of their homer and into the periphery of the city. With our reportage we want to show the vicious cycle triggered by the demolition of affordable housing. With the rising rents and shortage of available housing, a scenario of crisis no longer seems hypothetical. The Allmend is available to all Zurich residents, and the demolished building provides reusable material, a Mondscheinsiedlung on the Allmend might not be as far-fetched as it seems at first glance.
