The exhibition Legislating Architecture | Architecting after Politics at aut. architektur und tirol builds on the exhibition of the same name, which was conceived for the Vorarlberger Architektur Institut (Legislating Architecture | Architecting after Politics (*****S)). It was realized in cooperation with the online TV channel station+ (ETH Zurich), and presents the first three films of the ongoing collaboration between Brandlhuber+ and artist and director Christopher Roth. The first one, Legislating Architecture describes a model of thinking and acting that addresses the rules and regularities of architecture. The Property Drama focuses on the questions “Who owns the land?”. The latest film Architecting after Politics continues what the films Legislating Architecture and The Property Drama began and poses a crucial question of our time: Who is building the world? The films give answers to these question through an array of case studies, brought together as cohesives dialogues.

In an expanded form in terms of space and content, the various thematic fields within the debate on architecture, politics and economics were presented and made accessible to a wider public along a trail. Visitors were brought through four rooms of mixed video content, from curated youtube playlists, to full length films, to short individual interviews. Embodying the populist act of “watching TV,” the exhibition is an argument for accessible forms of representation and wider communication. Legislating Architecture | Architecting after Politics was accompanied and expanded by lectures by Arno Brandlhuber, Christoph Chorherr, Momoyo Kaijima (Atelier Bow-Wow) and Stéphanie Bru / Alexandre Theriot (Bruther), who addressed various aspects of spatial production in the context of politics, society and the economy.
