The project idea UBS Home rethinks the role of corporate architecture in times of housing crisis. At the UBS Uetlihof campus in Zurich, underutilized meeting rooms could be transformed into temporary sleeping spaces for people in need.

During the day, the rooms would continue to function as workspaces; at night, they‘d become safe and dignified places to stay. Existing resources already include separate entrances, sanitary facilities, integrated security systems, and strong public transport connections.

With only minimal and fully reversible interventions, the proposal could activate infrastructure that is currently occupied only around 30% of the time. The project UBS Home could demonstrate how big institutions can create social impact through the collective reuse of existing space.
